My art

The soul of the eyes

Pedro was born in Tenerife 1982, raised in Madrid and grew up in an art-loving family surrounded by two artists; his father, Jose Luis, and his uncle, Juan Andres.

Together they regularly visited great reference Museums (Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen Bornemisza, Tate, MoMA, etc.), and this greatly influenced his love for contemporary art, most especially pop art. Warhol and Lichtenstein inspire his style
Pedro studied Business in ESB in Germany, lived previously in London

He has been painting colorful portraits for more than 10 years and since 9 based In Zürich. His passion is to capture the soul through the expression of the eyes and to catch the personality and feeling of the moment, for he believes that each face has a story behind it. And that’s the true beauty of it.

About Yapeal, I think we have many things in common: My dream always has been to democratize art. Arts have the potential to enrich people’s lives and it is at heart of everything I do.

I imagine an inclusive world where art connects the Society and artist are connected directly with you. Somehow my disruptive point of view about the classical art industry (comparing galleries and banks as traditional forces) shares the disruptive democratize ideals with Yapeal movement.
